And since the average person only designs a kitchen once or twice in their lifetime, it’s our goal at Empire to make the experience as memorable as possible, for all the right reasons. That is why we have taken our years of experience and developed a process that works. Our Kitchen Design Process takes the guess work out of the remodeling, while keeping in mind that our clients are individuals and need to be a part of the fun.

With so many details in a kitchen to think about, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to choose the features you will want in your new kitchen. So before we arrive for the in home Design Consultation, you will receive a copy of our “Kitchen Planning Guide”, with several questions designed to help us learn about you and your family, how you live and cook, and what your special needs are. Also included are the many available accessories we commonly use in most kitchen remodeling projects. We ask that you choose as many as you would wish to have, then it’s our job to design them in to your project in a way that is balanced and offers you optimal function. If there is something you want that you don’t see, please make a note for us, and we will find it for you.

 Preparing for the In Home Design Consultation

Complete the Kitchen Planning Guide, this information is so valuable, the more you can share with us the better! We suspect that remodeling your kitchen isn’t something you decided to do yesterday; most folks are planning for three to six months before they call a professional to begin the process. During that time, we are sure you have saved a picture or two, tore something out of a magazine, maybe even a wood sample or a piece of countertop you like, we want to know what you’ve been thinking. Sharing these snippets with us will dramatically shorten the amount of time it takes for us to arrive at exactly what you want. Don’t hold back on sharing something you want because a neighbor or another designer said it couldn’t be done, our fresh unique approach has made the impossible possible before, tell us what you want, we can make it happen. The information you share with your designer at this meeting is what they will use to develop your very important “Initial Design Concept.”

 In Home Design Consultation

We have to know the space we will be designing in order to do the job right! So we come to your house, and measure your space, (walkways, clearances, doorways, and windows), we talk to you about your traffic flow, and how many cooks are typically in your kitchen, are there any physical, cultural, or religious restrictions or requirements for your design. We take pictures and ask you questions. We go over the Kitchen Planning Guide to make sure you haven’t left anything out and are satisfied with the things you have asked for. We don’t want you to settle. We look at the structure of the home, and determine if any changes you wish to make will require an architect or an engineer. A brief inspection of your electrical service is an early indicator to us of any upgrades that may be required as part of your kitchen remodel. We will talk to you about what type of an investment you are looking to make in your home, and are you renovating to stay or to sell your home? We help you establish a realistic budget for your project, and we will work within this number.

Creating the Initial Design Concept

Creating the Initial Design Concept should be fairly easy if we have completed the first three steps. Our Kitchen Designer takes all the information gathered from the In Home Consultation and inputs the existing kitchen floor plan into our computer based design software program. The program we use is specifically designed for Kitchen Remodeling Professionals, and our Kitchen Designers are trained at the highest proficiency level. This means that the renderings produced will be accurate down to the smallest detail. Any modifications to the room, such as:

• Vaulted ceilings
• New/changed windows
• New/changed doorways
• Walls added/removed

All modifications can be graphically enhanced to give you a clear vision of the project as we propose it will look after the Kitchen Remodel. Prepare to be WOWed, our experienced creative designers are a big part of the reason our customer’s choose Empire. We think you will agree.

Design Presentation

We will be back with your completed design usually within one week. With us, we have a full set of design renderings, showing your elevations, overhead views and floor plans, and colored perspective renderings, we will have proposed counter top materials, and a selection of doors and finishes that reflect your style. We will be prepared with a full costing of the entire project, within your budget.

 Choosing Empire

We are so confident that you will love what we offer you, we put many hours into making the Design Presentation possible, and we do this on our time, it is our initial investment to earn your business, by doing so we expect to prove we are the company that will satisfy you as a customer. Now that you love what you see, and you are ready to take the wheel and drive the next phase of the design, we will ask you to commit your project to us with a design retainer. Great things await you in our showroom, and we can’t wait to share with you what we have!

Virtual Kitchen Design Studio

Now that you are ready to start the fine tuning of your kitchen and making it personal to you, you will be treated to a full scale presentation in our “Virtual Kitchen Design Studio.” This is a presentation experience like no other you will see, and it is reserved for live projects like yours! The feeling you get of actually being in your kitchen, makes it possible for you to take charge of what goes where in this kitchen, sort of like you are “mentally moving in” to your new kitchen.  Design Revisions

Some clients have very few changes to make at this point. Others have things to add and move, and every cutlery divider, every roll-out tray, garbage pull-out, and spice rack finds its home during Design Revisions. You will know ahead of time what you are getting, that is the beauty of our process. Whatever your needs are, we are flexible, to assist you in every way we can, after all, we want you to have the perfect kitchen. You can schedule additional appointments in our Design Center; we can visit you in home, whatever you need to feel that you have gotten the answers to your important questions. This is part of the service we offer, we are here for you!

 Choosing Final Selections

Once all of the nuts and bolts of the design are finalized, the final cabinet finish and counter top color can be selected.  Our showroom, adjacent to the “Virtual Kitchen Design Studio” has displays that are designed to impress and excite, without overwhelming our clients. As designers, we love being creative, adding decorative accents like:

 These decorative features add interest, but they aren’t for everyone, or every kitchen, we will help you decide what is right for you. Our showroom has all the finishes and styles you are looking for, and we offer framed, frameless and custom cabinetry. Our designers specialize in helping you choose just the right counter top and flooring to pull the whole project together. We have tile displays to help you decide on the backsplash that will be the perfect finishing touch on your dream kitchen.
